These are photos that I, my mom, or my brother, took back in 1989 in NYC. The ones that are not mine are identified as such. They are a solid part of my story even though they took place 12 years before the aforementioned title of the story.

02 May 1989. On board the USS Forrestal. That is Larry, my step-father. It was a brief visit to the ship as they were headed back to Detroit that same afternoon.
02 May 1989. My brother, mom, and Larry. Outside of Radio City Music Hall. We had a fairly quick tour of the area near the ship and Times Square.
03 May 1989. On the shore at the north end of Pier 88. You can clearly see my brother's sponson. That's his Phalanx gun near center of the photo (white like R2D2). Yea, yea. I know it belongs to the US Navy, but he was signed for it and responsible for it. That and ensuring that any inbound missile or aircraft, that was a threat, was shot down.
Above is a picture of the tail end of Pier 90. They are painted white now and are marked differently. The piers were then marked by berth numbers.
